Got a Logitech mouse? Use LCC
In the past, I’ve been a huge advocate of SteerMouse, a $28 mouse control program. The 10.5.6 update has introduced some mouse bugs on some of my systems, in particular those with Logitech mice. Neither the stock system software or SteerMouse fixed it, but I’ve been using the Logitech Control Center (LCC) with success. LCC [...]
OCZ introduces Apex 230 MB/s SSDs
OCZ has announced the Apex series of 2.5″ SATA II Solid-State Drives, which come in 60gb, 120gb, and 250gb flavors ($199, $370, and $830, respectively). They’re rated at 230 MB/s read and 160 MB/s write, which is just insane! Can you imagine a RAID array of these monsters? Sheesh!

MSI Wind NetTop D130 announced
Pretty slick! It features a dual-core 1.6ghz Atom 330, 2GB RAM, DVD Burner, and 35 watts of power consumption - that’s like half a lightbulb! Price is expected to be $240. I’ve already got a fully-working Uinstaller Plugin for the current $140 barebones MSI Wind PC, so it shouldn’t be a problem to get this one working. [...]
Google Quick Search Box for Mac
You’d think this was a stupid idea, given Spotlight, Quicksilver, etc., but it’s actually brilliant! It’s EXTREMELY fast and can be configured to sit in your menubar. Just tap Command-Command to launch it. It can search all of the Google stuff (Google Search, Images, News, Products, Docs), Youtube, Wikipedia, as well as your local computer, including [...]

Cheap Chip: E5200 for $69
Fry’s Online has the E5200 for just $69.99 + shipping (was $6.39 for me). This is a 2.5ghz dual-core chip that overclocks like crazy - it goes to 3.0ghz easily (FYI the 3.0ghz E8400 sells for $165!) and most likely will go higher than that with good cooling. I’ve seen it as high as 3.8ghz on [...]
